Runaways to Home Decor
remember the wonderful Sophie Theallet Fall 2016 RTW collection from NYFW, (well in case you don't, here's the link to my review of it). I continue to be obsessed, so as I was looking through my virtual Clipboard for a new project, I realized that my obsession with deep feminine and uber stylish style of her fall collection has somehow affected my color palette settings are not for clothes, but for furnishings and home décor. I'm not so happy in grey or yellow patterns shades, but live and learn as they say.
Malachite pattern and stripes-grey-is especially easy to incorporate into any décor because of their high blend-in capabilities. They don't want to overwhelm a room and yet with Butter cup or mustard as the accent they give a refined and luxurious feel even if the pieces are not on the high end of the price scale.

If you are curious about high government from collage ... it is Jimmie Martins, of course. And Yes, this post is about commercial art or art commercialism, call it as you selected, and Jimmie Martin it is example of why art commercialism is good. Jimmie Karlsson and Martin Nihlmar, the geniuses behind the brand, has shown that the line between art and ordinary life is not and should not be that clear. Mixing fashion trends, art styles and street smarts they have been creating magic since 2004.
CABINETS

I love their furniture, but will be the first to admit that their pieces are not for everyone. They are bold, unique, flashy, beautifully made, and Yes, unmistakable and totally in-your-face. If you do not know much about the London-based brand Jimmie Martin, no better time than today to take a journey into the wonderful world of the Museum art-meets-street furniture and décor.  Here are some of their amazing that I would love to have the right nowwww ...

and since I write about my current obsession and a long time love affair with commercial art I have to take in this list camps magician and the artist extraordinaire, Ms. Brenda Holzke.

intimate clothes

I saw her design about a year ago and for my money, her intimate clothing variety of exquisite porcelain paperclay (photos above) is the best mix of good and pop art around. I know that of the images it can look like a basic form of commercialism disguised as art, but you would be wrong, so, so wrong to believe that. White multidimensional textile sculptures are clean and quiet, and stroke a tongue-in-cheek invitation to get you high horse and enjoy life and all it has to offer. For me this is the essence and the big advantage of commercial art.

for a less controversial example Ms. Holdzke art-you should take a look at her exquisite potteries. I do certainly often. They are completely outrageous ...

I love movement and genuine error that each piece seems to portray. But it is a trompe-d ' euil, I assure you. Techniques and the results are perfection.

do you have a favorite commercial artist? I would love to hear from you as always-email me

XOXO, Mimi
